[Translator's note, from my (Lilisin) experience of watching the tv show that they are talking about. Basically, on New Years of every year in Japan, there is a competition between actors, comedians and singers (modern, traditional, classical, etc...). There are two teams, a red team and a white team. And they do their acts and be all funny and stuff. They are judged and whoever wins, well... wins. It's really odd as it usually gets all hectic and out of control and whatnot. ^^;; But it's worth watching at least once.]
