Lilisin here from Off the Wall (now over) and my journal.
The actual purpose of this site? To get my friends to understand why I sparkle when I hear names like Asakura Yoh, or Ryo Saeba, or series' names like Yugioh and Samurai Deeper Kyo. They don't get it. Not just yet. But they will.
But it's also nice to think that I can offer this to so many other people. People need to realize that manga and anime is so much more than Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z (although I still do like those series every once in a while). Let's walk away from the stereotypes, shall we?
So, I'm offering manga translations. That's right. I want to translate the manga I have and show people what they're missing out on.
What am I working on?
- I'm currently working on Shaman King.
- I have a lot of manga from other different series that I want to translate so hopefully one day it'll happen. But unfortunately, I will most likely stop translations after Shaman King is over. But we'll see, we'll see.
Translations of Samurai Deeper Kyo:
- Samurai Deeper Kyo is now officially on the back burner and will be put under the "Manga Samples" section until I get my precious time back from school.
Detective Conan translations:
I have stopped these translations due to lack of time and for lack of motivation. I can't see myself catching up 36 volumes. _o_... But, never fear, there are translations out there for this series. Some of them are a bit off here and there but they'll give you the general idea. ^^ I'm sorry I couldn't make Detective Conan fans out of you guys but I highly, highly, recommend the series. It's great. Good humor, fantastic plot, loveable characters, consistancy, great art, realism, etc... So great. Please look into it! ^O^
Note this...
-- I will never do scanlations. Only text. My purpose is to get you guys to go out and buy the manga to these really great series. Hopefully you'll thank me when you've done so. (Which some of you already have, thank you!)
-- Please, also, do not use my translations to fill out your own scanlations project. You might see some rather undesirable consequences.
-- So don't bother emailing me with requests to use my translations to make your own scanlations. The answer is "no".
- My translations actually come from the French translations. I do not translate directly from the Japanese although I hope to someday be able to.
Translation from the French?
- Yes. Most of the series I enjoy come from the translating company Kana. So really, all the hard work was done by them and I'm just translating the easier French. So I bow down and worship the French translators. *o*
- But! This means that there will be little minor differences in translation since it does not come from the original text. What does this mean? Some chapter names and phrases might be different. But that's perfect 'cause that'll make you want to buy the original manga, right? I'm so subtle, aren't I? But I have compared the french version to the Japanese version and it is so close that any differences are very very fractional.
Why am I not updating?
- There is usually a good reason behind my not updating. Check my blog if there is a pause in updates for it'll most likely have the explanation there. At least, hopefully I have a legitimate excuse for not updating.
Just a little thing for me:
I'm selling some of my possessions at this site so check it out if you're interested. I'll keep it updated when I have more stuff to sell. ^^
